March 10 Wax
Here is the wax recommendation for prepping your skis for the weekend.
In Toko:
Apply LF Moly, scrape and brush, then apply a 1:1 Mix of HF Moly and Yellow, scrape and brush.
IN Swix:
CH 8 , scrape and brush , then apply LF 10/ HF 10, scrape and brush.
Brush all the wax out of your skis 20 -30+ passes, and get the wax off the edges, have kick zones well marked and sanded.
See you all friday at noon at the race site!

A few notes as we prepare for this weekend.
1. There is a detailed list of what you should bring on the "What to bring" tab but the following would be critical to remember:
A. There will be pre & post race snacks., but you must bring your own Lunch on Friday.
B. Bring a water bottle and carrier!
2. Ski Prep:
A. A wax recommendation for the weekend will go out first thing Thursday morning. However, it is critical that you have your skis clearly marked with your name and kick zones defined.
B. Be sure to mark your warm-up skis as well!
C. If you have a pair or can borrow a pair of no-wax skis for classic warm-ups it will save everyone a lot of time!
There is no shame in this. Bring them with you!!
3. There is a good sized pool at the Margate, but you must have a proper bathing suit to use it! No improptu, shorts and t-shirts.
4. Athletes Driving: I understand that some athletes may be driving themselves up on Friday which is fine.
However once we get to the Margate:
NO ATHLETES WILL BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE ANYWHERE UNTIL AFTER THE EVENT IS OVER ON SUNDAY AT NOON!
Any violation of this rule end your participation on Team NH immediately.
Please continue to check the website for updates over the next few days.
Sincerely,
Rob Nadeau
Team NH

Race Weekend Food:
Hello, Eastern High School Team Parents ~
Lynne Mitchell and I (Krista Helmboldt) are coordinating the lunches and snacks for Team NH for the 3-day race event in Gunstock the weekend after this. Lynne and I had a lot of fun last year in Rangeley working with all the amazing parents of last year’s racers – with everyone’s generous contributions, tasty recipes, and our core Food Crew Volunteers, Team NH was very well fed. We’re looking forward to another great weekend in Gunstock this year!
I am writing to inform you of some important details and to enlist your support:
1. Friday Lunch – Please be sure to send your skier off on Friday a.m. with a lunch and plenty to drink that will properly fuel and hydrate them for their 3:00 race. The Food Crew will have drinks and snacks set up for pre-race and post-race sustenance on Friday, but we will not have a full lunch for Friday.
2. Saturday & Sunday Lunches – The Food Crew will have lunch (sandwiches & soups/chili), snacks, water, Gatorade, and Hot Cocoa set up for both Saturday and Sunday for the Team – we’ll get food set up by about 11:00 both days so Skiers can eat when they wish.
3. Effort to cut down on waste – In an effort to reduce waste, we are encouraging skiers (and parents) to bring a water bottle that they can use for cold drinks that we will be providing in bulk (we will have a 5-gallon container each of water and Gatorade for people to put in their own bottles).
4. Food Donations – There has been a wonderful tradition of parents providing home-cooked soup/chili and baked goods (pumpkin bread, banana bread, brownies, muffins, etc.) for the Skiers. (Last year’s vegetarian chili, vegetarian squash lentil soup, regular chili, beef stew, banana cake, and pumpkin bread with chocolate chips were especially popular . . . Think healthy & tasty, reduce the sugar a little for the baked goods, and keep in mind that moister baked goods seem to hold up better than dry crumbly baked goods.) In addition to the home-made items, we are welcoming donations of other purchased food items if you would rather do that. The specific items are listed below, andwe would greatly appreciate your signing up to bring 1 item. I hope to hear from you by Sunday 3/7 so that we can plan our shopping accordingly. (You will notice that some items are large bulk quantities that one can get at the large “club” stores – so any of you with access to those resources, we welcome you signing up for those items.) If you are not attending the race, you can send your contribution with your skier, or another parent who is attending the races, or Lynne or myself. (Even if you are attending the races, you are welcome to give me or another Food Crew member your food item for transport.)
5. Volunteers needed for Food Crew – Lynne and I had 9 awesome volunteers last year helping with food prep on-site. We rotated shifts so that parents could watch their skiers race. If you are interested in helping with this, please sign up (by Sunday 3/7) for 1 or more slots in the schedule (see chart below), and I’ll be in touch with you to coordinate.
Thank you all so very much for your support! Please e-mail or call me with what you want to contribute for food and/or Food Crew time (by Sunday 3/7). Lynne and I look forward to another fun weekend supporting our awesome NH skiers!

February 15
1. We would like to thank our sponsors for their support: S &W Sports, Fischer Ski and Northeast Delta Dental
2. I hope everyone had a successful state championship week. We are now 4 weeks away from the EHSC weekend. It will be
the most critical 4 weeks of your season, consistency with your training will in large part determine how well you ski at
Eastern’s. Specifically, you must be disciplined in maintaining your training!
For those of you without a coach for this time period we will post a suggested training plan to the website. You may need to be creative at times, substituting roller skiing or running for times when you cannot get on snow.
Next weekend the two NH Eastern Cups will be taking place. It would be very beneficial for everyone to make an attempt to race in at least one of those events.
