NENSA Development Pipeline
The New England Nordic Ski Association's (NENSA) mission is to facilitate the development of skiers to the highest level of international excellence while fostering the growth of the sport at a grass-roots level.
Racing Age Groups
In the 2013-2014 ski season, USSA and NENSA adopted the "U" age class system with 'U' or 'Under' replacing the 'J' system for our competitive junior age groups. Age categories remain in two year increments, and the classifications are the same, only the title changes. For example, 18-19 year olds are now U20 (formerly OJ), 16-17 year olds are U18 (formerly J1), and so on. Your Age Group is defined by your age as of December 31st. Juniors and Junior National Team
Opportunities abound for athletes aged 14-19 (U16, U18 and U20) in New England. Among winter events, the premier racing circuit is the Eastern Cup which consists of eight races throughout New England. Most importantly to many juniors, results from these races determine the athletes to represent New England at Junior Nationals. For more information go to: https://www.nensa.net/page.php?id=2784.
