Team NH wins NENSA U16 Championships!!

NHNCA webmaster

Despite a ski season riddled with temperature extremes and schedule and race format changes, the resilience, hard work and dedication of our NH nordic skiers paid off as they were awarded the championship trophy at the 2016 New England Nordic Ski Association’s U16 Championships March 11-13th. It was the first time ever that our NH skiers won this prestigious event. Originally scheduled to take place at Black Mountain in Rumford, Maine, the races had to be relocated to the ski trails of Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine.  The NENSA U16 Championships began modestly in 1992 and have grown into one of the highlights of the season for junior athletes. Each New England state and New York can qualify their fastest 24 14-15 year old boys and girls. Four races ensue over 2 1/2 days. The top 10 NH girls and boys in overall individual standings by the end of the weekend:

It was one of the most challenging seasons in recent memory. The NHNCA would like to thank their generous sponsors: True Value Hardware, Meredith Village Savings Bank, White Mountain Nordic Association, Delta Dental, The Dublin School, CME Medical Consulting, Fischer, S & W Sports and Woodski.  For more details on the weekend and complete results click here
