Robin Ellison Memorial Race

In 2015 the High School "B" Race was renamed the Robin Ellison Memorial Race in honor of Robin Ellison. Robin worked as a counselor for Rutland City Schools for several years. Previously, he had worked as a counselor at Woodstock Union High School, and coached cross-country ski teams at Woodstock, Lebanon and Hanover High Schools.  To learn more about Robin's contribution, refer to former Concord High School's Nordic Coach Alan Herschlag's letter.

Sibley Award

The Sibley Award is awarded to the top girls and top boys teams based on the overall score from the 2 NH Series Races each year. First awarded in 1984, it is presented in honor of Laurie Sibley, who died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on June 11, 1984. She attended Camp Huckins in the summer and would have been a Junior Counselor in 1984. A bright, hardworking girl, she was a camper for seven years before being selected as a Junior Counselor in 1984. Laurie, with eleven other students, was scheduled to go to Spain the day after her accident. She was a very caring, considerate, lively young woman and was well-liked by everyone she met. She had been Vice President of her class and Captain of the cross country ski team. She was an ardent skier and competed in both high school races and U.S.S.A. Eastern Division competition. Says former Plymouth High School coach Tom Duda, "Laurie was an outstanding example of student/athlete".  The first race held in her honor was on December 30, 1984. The races have been held annually since. The family is very pleased that the NHNCA continues this award in her honor.
